Traditional Festivity "Crosses of May" : The typical barrio of Santa Cruz in Alicante dresses up for May with sweet-smelling crosses made of flowers lining its streets. The finest win awards, and dances and children's games are staged. Held from 1 to 3 May.

Jazz festival in July: The Vitoria-Gasteiz Jazz Festival celebrates this year its 30 anniversary and is an indispensable appointment in the Spanish musical scene. The characteristic of those three decades of music is the mix of the modernity and the experience of the great jazz musicians. And this year is no exception.
The Festival will present between July 8th and 15th exclusive concerts from the “Colossus” Sonny Rollins and Paco de Lucia with Wynton Marsalis, who is going to premier the Vitoria Suite.
The Vitoria-Gasteiz Jazz Festival is the only Spanish Festival member of the International Jazz Festival Organization (IJFO) which unites the most important European and North American Jazz Festivals. This year its international facet was reinforced during the MIDEM, the most important musical market in Europe, where two Basque groups , Iñaki Salvador Nonet and Tomas San Miguel + Txalaparta appeared, in an evening dedicated to the Festival under the name Basque Music – Vitoria Jazz Festival Night.

The Basque Museum of Contemporary Art - ARTIUM: The unkown masterpiece. It is an exhibition based on the book with the same title from Honoré de Balzac. The exhibition presents more than 100 clasic works: Rubens y Rembrandt, and contemporary artists, paying special attention to the artists from the second part of XX from Rothko until Basquiat.
