Lesson 6
Spanish verbs (1): General overview


- Spanish verbs are divided into three conjugations depending on the infinitive ending:
- ar (hablar - to speak)
- er (comer - to eat)
- ir (vivir, - to live)

- Spanish verbs have three moods: Indicative, subjunctive and imperative.

- Spanish verbs have a past participle: hablado, comido, vivido

- Spanish verbs have a gerund: hablando, comiendo, viviendo.

- Indicative and subjunctive have different tenses, some of them are simple tenses and other compound tenses:

Present (Presente)
Present Perfect (Pretérito perfecto)
Imperfect (Imperfecto)
Preterite (Indefinido)
Pluscuamperfect (Pluscuamperfecto)
Future (Futuro)
Conditional (Condicional) 		  Present (Presente)
Present Perfect (Pretérito perfecto)
Imperfect (Imperfecto)
Pluscuamperfect (Pluscuamperfecto)


- Depending on mood, tense and person of verb the end changes.
