Present Tense (indicative)
Regular verbs
- Spanish verbs are divided into three conjugations depending on the infinitive ending: - ar (hablar - to speak) - er (comer - to eat) - ir (vivir, - to live)
- Depending on person of verb the end changes. - The present tense is created by dropping the infinitive ending (-ar, -er, -ir) and adding different endings depending on the person.

Present tense use
- Use present tense to expresss an action at he present time. Example: Ahora vivo en Torrevieja, un pueblo que está cerca de Alicante. - Use present tense to expresss habitual actions. Example: Normalmente come a las 2 de la tarde. - Use present tense to expresss a state of being. Example: La Tierra es redonda. - Use present tense to expresss a near future. Example: Mañana voy a Madrid.
